Farmer Training Institute
The Farmer Training Institute (FTI) was established in the year 2023 with the primary objective of empowering farmers, farm women, and members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) through structured and need-based training programs. This initiative aims to enhance knowledge and skills in agriculture, horticulture, and allied sectors, thereby enabling participants to adopt improved and sustainable production technologies.
The FTI serves as a vital platform for capacity building and technology dissemination among farming communities. It functions in close coordination with various line departments of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and other allied sectors, with trainings often sponsored through government schemes and developmental programs. Support from state and central governments, as well as other funding organizations, is instrumental in conducting these programs.
Objectives of the Farmer Training Institute:
- To provide hands-on training in advanced and sustainable agricultural practices.
- To promote adoption of scientific techniques in crop production, protection, post-harvest management, and value addition.
- To enhance the decision-making and entrepreneurial skills of farmers, farm women, and rural youth.
- To facilitate knowledge sharing through seminars, workshops, group discussions, and field demonstrations.
Training Facilities:
To ensure the effectiveness and smooth conduct of training programs, the institute is equipped with:
- A well-designed Training Institute Building with lecture halls and meeting rooms.
- A Training Hostel with accommodation and dining facilities for participants.
- Access to demonstration plots, labs, and field visit opportunities.
