In order to bring the research conducted at the university’s research centers to the farmers of Davangere district, the Extension Education Unit was shifted from the Zonal Agricultural Research Center, Mudigere premises in 2008. The main objectives of this unit are to develop new To impart the technologies to the farmers through demonstration projects, field trials, frontline demonstrations, field trials, block (large scale demonstrations) and farmer schools. Farmers’ own enterprises and To play a role in doubling farmers’ income by providing training in skills and value-added products that create employment, and to provide solutions to crop-related problems through skilled experts, Growing new varieties of crops and holding field festivals in the farmers’ own fields, organizing farmer group discussions, and bringing the problems related to farmers’ agriculture to the relevant universities and the Department of Agriculture to find solutions Taking responsibility and working towards the development of farmers through various programs.
- Conduct the On campus and Off Campus Training
- To Support the Extension Activities instructed by the Director of Extension, KSNUAHS, Iruvakki
- To Organized the FLDs, Demonstration, Field Days to Effective Transfer of Technologies
- To Provide the Farm Advisory Services to the Farmers
- To provide the farmers the knowledge and help that will enable him to farm more efficiently and to increase his income
- To help in planning and implementing the family and village plans for increasing production in various occupations
- To encourage the farmer to grow his own food. Eat well and living well.
- To train rural people youth for development works
- To UPLIFT the Overall Livelihood Status of the farmers
- To Increase the women farmers participation in Self help Groups and Cooperatives
- Providing Capacity Building Programmes(CBPS,s) to the rural youth, women, Farmer and line department
- To improve the livelihoods of farming community through holistic approaches of scientific technology transfer/developed in the research stations, in such a way that farm ecosystems are sustained.
