ABOUT COLLEGE

College of Agricultural sciences, Iruvakki, is an affiliated institution to Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga located at Iruvakki village of Sagar taluk in Shivamogga district. The institution is 50 kms away from Shivamogga and 25 kms from Sagar. The college is amid of treasure natural wealth and biodiversity spread over ~777 acres. The institution aims to impart quality education to aspiring young talents in agriculture and forestry sciences. The institution also conducts research to solve the location-specific problems of the farming community and offers solutions in the form of technologies through strong extension network. The institution is equipped with highly qualified and experienced teachers, digitally equipped smart classrooms, fully furnished laboratories, farm fields for conducting research experiments, hostels for girls and boys, library and sports facilities.

Currently two bachelor’s degree programs viz B.Sc.(hons) Agriculture and B.Sc.(hons) Forestry are being offered. These degree programmes are of four-year tenure with eight semesters. where theoretical and practical knowledge on agriculture, forestry and allied sciences is provided.

Undergraduate Degree Programs

B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture

It is a four-year under-graduate degree programme comprising of eight semesters. The first semester focuses on basic sciences and humanities to prepare students for agriculture and applied sciences. Subsequently in second and third year, courses in agriculture disciplines such as agronomy, horticulture, soil science and agricultural chemistry, genetics and plant breeding, plant biotechnology, seed science and technology, crop physiology, agricultural microbiology, agricultural entomology, plant pathology, agricultural economics, agricultural extension and agricultural statistics are offered. The final year focuses on Student-ready programme which provides hands on training, experiential learning, rural agricultural work experience, internship in agro industries, Krishi vigyan kendras, research stations, etc. Additionally, students undergo courses such as physical education, national service scheme and educational tour. For practical exposure as a part of course curriculum students will be taken to exposure visits. This overall four-year programme puts foundation in agricultural sciences to make them ready for taking up agriculture as an enterprise and serve in public/ private organizations in the sphere of agricultural and allied sciences. Further, they can pursue higher education in the specialized disciplines of agriculture as mentioned above.

The final year focuses on Student-ready programme which provides hands on training, experiential learning, project work and dissertation, forest range training programme, industrial placement, weapon training and first-aid training, socio-economic survey, and village attachment, etc. Additionally, students undergo courses such as physical education, national service scheme and educational tour. For practical exposure as a part of course curriculum students will be taken to exposure visits to different forest ecosystems. This overall four year programme puts foundation in forest sciences to make them ready for forestry as an enterprise and also serve in public/ private organizations in the sphere of forestry and allied sciences. Further, they can pursue higher education in the specialized disciplines of forestry as mentioned above.

This overall four year programme puts foundation in forest sciences to make them ready for horticulture as an enterprise and also serve in public/ private organizations in the sphere of forestry and allied sciences. Further, they can pursue higher education in the specialized disciplines of hoerticulture as mentioned above.

Facilities

Smart Classrooms

Each classroom is equipped with smart TV, LCD projector, black/ white board, comfortable sitting arrangements with other basic amenities to provide an interactive learning environment, every classroom has a sitting capacity of 60 students. For applied learning and extension activities a studio with audio-video recording, editing/ broadcasting/ telecasting facility is available. In addition, language labs are established in the campus to impart soft skills.

Each department has well equipped laboratories with working tables, sitting arrangement, all necessary equipments, machines, chemicals, glasswares, live specimens, etc. Each laboratory can accommodate a batch of 30 students.

Each department has required experimental fields to carry out research, practical experiments for students in crop production, crop protection, crop improvement and forestry.

Campus has exclusive girls’ and boys’ hostels. Nethravathi for girls’, while Kumardhara for boys. Hostels are furnished with well-ventilated rooms, reading rooms, guest rooms, TV hall for entertainment, indoor sports hall, etc. Hostels are efficiently managed by warden, hostel management committee and caretaker. Emergency health care facility is available at the hostel. Security of the students is given due care by deploying security guards over 24×7.

Campus has playground and required facilities for both individual and group sports activities. Students compete at college level in individual and group sports activities and then represent university in zone-wise and all India sports events.

Campus has cafeteria for students and staff. Quality food with hygiene will be served during the office hours (9 am to 5 pm).

Dispensary has a qualified doctor and nurse to provide required emergency health care facilities. An Ambulance is available 24×7 in the campus.

Iruvakki campus has an exclusive Canara bank branch for providing financial services to students and staff.

A full-fledged examination hall is available in Varada block, which has a sitting capacity of 120 students. The examination hall has exclusive surveillance with more than 10 CC cameras for effective monitoring of the examinations being conducted. In addition, there will be a team comprising of examination controller and invigilators for efficient monitoring of the examinations.

Campus has clubs to engage students in diverse curricular and extra-curricular activities. IT club imparts creativity and soft skills, and acquaint them with IT skills and software’s. To provide suitable platform for exposing the hidden talents of students, Kannada Literature club, Cultural and Sports club are functioning at the Iruvakki campus.

Campus has one college bus for taking students to exposure visits in the nearby areas. There is also an ambulance for health emergency 24×7.

Co-curricular activities

The institution provides enough opportunities to the students for overall development, by offering several co-curricular activities.

Student-ready programme:

This programme was launched by Honorable Prime minister on 25.07.2015 to reorient agricultural education system for improving employability to the graduates and to impart entrepreneurial skills among the graduates. Undergraduate students undergo this progam during their fourth year of degree programme. This programme encompasses five components viz., experiential learning on business mode, hands on training/skill developmental training, rural agricultural work experience, internship/ implant training/ industrial attachments, and students projects

i) Experiential learning program (ELP):

It enables students to develop capability, competence, confidence and acquire technical skills in initiating their own enterprise. The intension of ELP on business mode is to make agricultural graduates’ job creators/ providers. Earn while learn is a concept of ELP. ELP is anticipated to impart professional skills, confidence, and managerial capabilities in graduating students.

ii) Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE): It is designed to expose graduating students to a rural environment. Students should reside in a village for three months, understand the problems of farming community and offer possible solutions with the acquired knowledge to the local farming problems. It is an excellent forum to disseminate technologies developed from their institution for the benefit of the farming community. RAWE enables students to understand psychological, sociological, economical, and political behavior of farmers.

iii) Implant training/ industrial attachment:  This expose students to industrial environment which cannot be created within the university. It enabes students to understand psychology of workers and gain managerial skills.

iv) Tour: State and all India educational tours are included in the course curriculum of undergraduate degree programme of Agriculture and Forestry sciences. These special courses are designed to expose students to different agro-climatic zones, national and international farm related institutions, progressive farmers, and entrepreneurs.

National Service Scheme (NSS):

College has National Service Scheme unit. Students have compulsory course of NSS during their first year of degree. Students participate in various NSS camps across the state and also represent university in different forums.

Agriculture Economics

Dr. Kiran Kumar R. Patil

Dr. Kiran Kumar R. Patil hailing from Bagalkot district of Karnataka completed his Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from College of Agriculture, Navile, Shivamogga. He is the recipient of ICAR Junior Research Fellowship in Social Sciences. He completed his Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. He pursued his Doctoral degree in Agricultural Economics with INSPIRE Fellowship from DST, GoI at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru. His area of Specialization is Natural Resource Economics. He has brilliant academic career winning gold medals at Master’s and Doctorate degrees. He has published 40 research articles in reputed national and international journals. He has even authored several popular articles, book chapters and book in the field of Agricultural Economics. He is having 10 years of experience in teaching and research in the field of Agricultural Economics. His article entitled “Economic impact of consumption of forest products in India” was adjudged as the best article from the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics and awarded with Anamitra Saha Prize. He was invited by American Agricultural Economics Association for presenting research paper on Groundwater Economics at its annual conference of 2015 held at San fransico, USA by awarding LILIMI Travel grant. He had a privilege of undergoing a year long mentorship with Senior most Eminent Agricultural Economist under LILMI Travel Grant from AAEA. He is presently working as Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics at College of Agricultural Sciences, Iruvakki, Shivamogga affiliated to Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga (KSNUAHS). He is also associated with several research projects at KSNUAHS, Shivamogga. His academic area of interest includes Farm Management economics, Agricultural Production Economics, Econometrics, Natural Resource Economics, Operation Research. He has an expertise in handling statistical softwares like SPSS, E-views, Matlab, Lingo and Lindo. Impact assessment of technologies, institutions, governmental programmes valuation of natural resources, marketing of agricultural commodities are the focal research areas

Dr. Naveen N L

Dr. Nadoor Lakkanna Naveen received his Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Entomology from the Agricultural University of Bangalore in 2012. He then served as a senior research associate at UAHS, Shimoga and ICAR-IIHR, Bangalore. In 2015, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering (CeNSE) Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. She joined the Central Government's Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Collection in 2017. He has served in the Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee (CIB & RC) Integrated Pest Management Centre, (IPM) and Plant Quarantine Divisions for a period of 6 years. She joined the university as an assistant professor of entomology in February 2023. His interests include the ecology of insects, pest management in grain storage, and the applications of nanotechnology in pest management. He is an Associate Editor of the Indian Entomologist, a journal published by the Entomological Society of India, New Delhi.

Dr. Latha M

Dr. Latha M., Assistant Professor, is an entomologist and acrologist. She was born in Ripponpete village of Shivamogga, Karnataka on June 21, 1988. She obtained her B.Sc. (Agri.) during 2010 and M.Sc. (Agri.) in Entomology during 2012 from UAS, Bangalore. She awarded ICAR- JRF from New Delhi in 2010. In M. Sc. her research on Bio-ecology and management of tobacco cut worm, S. litura using bio-rationals and newer insecticides. She completed her doctoral degree in 2019; on Bio-Ecology and evolving different management modules against spider mite, Tetranychus macfarlanei (Tetranychidae: Acari) on Cucumber. She started her working career from July 11, 2012 as Subject Matter Specialists at Assistant Director of Horticulture office, N.R.Pura, Chikkamaglore district. Later she joined as senior research fellow in Arecanut root grub project at College of Agriculture, Shivamogga. In that project she worked on production of bio-control agent especially on mass production of Metarhizium anisopleae in that field she has two year experience. She was continued her area of interest on rootgrub and bio-control by worked as Research assistant at College of Agriculture, UAS, Dharwad from 2014-2015. She joined as SRF in AINRP Tobacco scheme in 2015, where she worked for seven months. Later she worked in Establishment of crop pest and disease forecasting centre at Iruvakki under RKVY-RAFTAAR project from 2020-2021. She served as Assistant plant protection officer (Entomology) at RPQS, Chennai, under Govt. Of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, DPPQR, Faridabad. She completed three PG diploma courses on IPR, Rural development and on HRM from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. She received Young Scientist of the Year-2021 award by National Environmental Science Academy, New Delhi. She is author of more than 18 national and international research papers, 2 books, 4 abstract, 10 popular articles and 8 extension bulletin and delivered 5 radio talks.

Dr. Shashekala.S.G

Shashekala S. G is born in Bandakunte village, Sira taluk, Tumkur district of Karnataka, India on June 05, 1977. She completed M.Sc. in Agricultural Extension Education University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bangalore in 2001. She completed Ph.D. in Communication and Journalism in 2019 University of Mysore and Post graduate diploma Mass communication and Journalism from Karnataka state open university, Mysore. She is Assistant Professor, Department of Agricultural Extension Education, Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences (KSNUAHS), Shivamogga. Earlier she has worked as state coordinator National Innovation Foundation (NIF), Associate editor for a kannada magazine “Hittalagida” published by Department of Agricultural economics, UAS, Bangalore, Research associate in WYTEP evaluation programme, Technical officer for livelihood sector in a world bank funded project in Watershed development department, Central programme officer for capacity building in a FAO funded project on sustainable agriculture in Agriculture Man Ecology (AME) foundation, Research associate in evaluation of public distribution system(PDS) Institute for Financial Management and Resources (IFMR), Content manager and south regional manager in IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Limited (IKSL), Monitoring and evaluation officer, additional project coordinator and country level gender focal point in a GIZ funded Green innovation center(GIC) project in Education Training Consultant(ETC),Green Innovation Center(GIC). She is having 22 years of experience in Impact studies, Gender inclusiveness, project planning and implementation, capacity building monitoring and evaluation. More than 10,000 voice messages were recorded and broadcasted in her voice on Agro advisories to farmers of Karnataka. She was a column writer for 2 years for a monthly farm magazine “Negila miditha” published by KSNUHAS, Shivamogga. She visited Wageningen University & Research in Wageningen, Netherlands to participate in technical training on capacity building and Monitoring and Evaluation of developmental projects. She has received Saksham national award for technology transfer, Best content developer national award for content contribution for mobile app and women empowerment state award for promoting livelihood activities through women self-help groups.

Dr. Shilpa M.E

Dr. Shilpa, M. E, is working as Farm Superintendent and Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Microbiology, KSNUAHS, Iruvakki, Shivamogga. Previously she worked as Research Associate under GOK funded Natural Farming Project for four years. She got her M.Sc (Agricultural Microbiology) in 2013 with three gold medals and Ph.D (Agricultural Microbiology) in 2016 from UAS, Bengaluru. She is an awardee of INSPIRE fellowship from Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India for her Ph.D programme. She completed Post Graduate Diploma in Nano Biotechnology and Diploma in Agri clinic and Agri business from MANAGE, Hyderabad. 12 full length research papers in national and international journals, more than 30 abstracts, full length papers and book chapters in various symposiums & conferences on various significant topics of Agricultural Microbiology and Natural farming, 06 popular articles, 2 radio talks, 15 leaflets and 1 booklets for her credit. Her career pursuits include working on research projects pertaining to bio-control, bio fertilizers and mushroom cultivation aspects.

Dr. Satish Y

Dr. Satish Y, born in Yegnoor village of Raichur District, Karnataka. He has completed B.Sc (Agriculture) from University of Agriculture Sciences, Raichur in 2013, M.Sc (Agri) in Agricultural Statistics from University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bangalore in 2015, Ph.D. in Agricultural Statistics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 2023 and Post Graduate Diploma in Agriculture Extension Management from MANAGE, Hyderabad in 2024. He started his career with Canara Bank as Agriculture Extension Officer and was posted in Tamil Nadu from 2017 to 2018. Later, he got selected as Scientist-B in Central Silk Board, Bengaluru and worked for 4 years & 3 months (2018 to 2023) in CSR&TI, Pampore, Jammu & Kashmir for development of sericulture in Kashmir & Kargil area. Thereafter, he joined as Assistant Professor of Agriculture Statistics in College of Agricultural Sciences, Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural & Horticultural Sciences, Iruvakki, Shivamogga from February, 2023 onwards. He has cleared ICAR-NET (Agricultural Statistics & Bioinformatics) in 2016, UGC-NET (Population studies) in 2017 and also cleared UGC-JRF (Population studies) in 2017. He has received Best M.Sc. thesis award from Society for Application of Statistics in Agriculture & Allied Sciences in 2016. He is a contributing author to 10 research publications and two popular articles.

Dr. Ningaraju G K

Dr. Ningaraju, G.K. obtained his graduation from College of Agriculture, Hassan, Post-graduation in Agronomy from Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur and Ph.D. (Agronomy) from the University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bengaluru, Karnataka. He earned his master's degree with the Best KAU Thesis Award. 14 research papers, 2 Books, several brief research notes and extension bulletins have been published by him. He is specialized in Irrigation water management, Nutrient management, Farming systems, weed management, Crop production technology, Organic farming, Integrated farming system, Precision farming and Agroforestry with six years of experience in teaching and Research at UAS, Bangalore and one year experience in KSNUAHS, Shivamogga. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Agronomy at the College of Agricultural Sciences, Iruvakki, Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga-577412.

Dr. Sujatha H.T

Dr. Sujatha, H. T. is born in Hullehalli village of Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka. She completed B.Sc. (Agri.) from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru and M.Sc. (Agri.) and Ph.D. in Agronomy from University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. She started her career as a Senior Research Fellow in ICAR-IIWBR, Karnal and ICAR-IARI, New Delhi from 2020 to 2021. Later, she worked as Assistant Professor of Agronomy in School of Agriculture, Lovely Professional University, Punjab for 2 years from November, 2021 to November, 2023. Thereafter, she joined as Assistant Professor of Agronomy in College of Agricultural Sciences, Iruvakki, Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga. She has published 15 research and review articles, 3 patents and 1 copyright, 5 popular articles, 1 book, 2 book chapters, 8 abstracts, 3 extended summaries and 2 research notes.

Dr.Mahibubsa

Dr. MAHIBUBSA, M hails from a farming family in Hunsagi Taluk, Yadgir District, North Eastern part of Karnataka and was born on September 10, 1984. He completed his Ph.D. in 2018 and Master's degree in 2010 in Heredity and Plant Genetic Development, Karnataka Agricultural University, Raichur. In 2007, he completed his Bachelor of Agriculture from Bhimrayanagudi College of Agriculture, University of Dharwad. He completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu in 2014 and Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Marketing and Management from Alexis Foundation, Lucknow in 2015. She completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Extension Management from Andhra Pradesh, MANAGE, Hyderabad in 2020. In the past, he has worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Agricultural Research Station, Kalaburagi, Deputy Project Director in the Department of Agriculture, Kalaburagi and Yadgir, Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Project, Junior Breeder (Maize and Bajra) - Breed Development Specialist at Oxen Highways Private Limited, Hyderabad. Later he studied Heredity and Plant Breed Development at the Lower Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences in Shimoga district of Karnataka. He has been appointed as an assistant professor in the department. He has contributed authors to 9 full length research papers, one research note, 11 abstracts at national and international level, seventeen popular articles and seven extension folder / brochures. He was conferred the "Young Extension" Worker Award by the Science and Tech Society for Integrated Rural Development at the National Seminar on "Doubling Farmers Income for Sustainable and Harmonious Agriculture (DISHA-2019) organized at Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, Jharkhand on August 10 and 11, 2019. UGC and CS on 27th to 28th February 2012 at Periyar University, Salem (Tamil Nadu). Ay. R. He has received the "Young Scientist Award" from the sponsored national conference "Genomics and Genetic Engineering Techniques for Crop Improvement." University Grants Commission, Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, New Delhi during 2012-13. He was awarded the Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF). In addition, during 2014-15 and 2015-16, he was involved in the development of gram varieties "GBM-2" and "Super Annigeri-1" at the Agricultural Research Station, Kalaburagi. He is a life member of the Science and Technology Society for Integrated Rural Development.

At present he is working as Professor & Head, Department of PSMAC, CoAS, Iruvakki. He has developed four technologies in Arecanut. He has guided 4 M.Sc. (Hort.) students as Chairman

Dr. Bhajantri Archana

Dr. Archana Bhajantri pursued her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Horticulture with specialization in Floriculture and Landscape Architecture from University of Agricultural sciences, Dharwad. Her research work was on improvement of Gladiolus through induced mutagenesis by gamma rays and chemical mutagens. She has been associated with research, teaching and extension activities carried out at SAU’s and KVK for nearly 6 years. She has been involved in coordinating and implementing research and extension activities at KVK, AEEC and EEU at UAS Dharwad. She has authored more than 30 research articles in National and International Journals. Of which seven articles are published in journals having high impact factor. More than 10 extension bulletins, 35 popular articles and 50 research abstracts covering various aspects of horticulture and allied subjects are to her credit. She has been involved in organizing more than 10 training programme on dissemination of horticulture technology. She has prepared e-lecture notes and manuals for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. She has delivered lecture on technical aspects of horticulture in winter and summer schools organized at State Agricultural Universities.

Dr. Kusuma C Shamanur

Dr.Kusuma C Shamanur she is working as Assistant Professor Department of Physical Education.at Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural Sciences and Horticulture Shivamogga, Iruvakki. She has completed her master’s degree in Physical Education from Akkamahadevi Womens university vijayapura, Karnataka in the year 2011-2012 .Did the certificate course in fashion design previous to master degree. And done certificate course in yoga also . M.Phil in the year 2013-2014.in the year 2014 -16 She had awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Education by the Akkamahadevi Womens University Vijayapura. As a teacher pupil she knows for hard work and commitment for the cause of up liftment in the field of education. She started teaching CBSE syllabus of NCTE for BPEd degree course students. She has 4 years experiences in professional life. She had published more than 20 research papers in international journals as well as in Indian journals and presented 16 papers at national and international conferences on different areas of physical education field. She has published 2 books in national level. And she has attended 10 webinars. She has represented Akkamahadevi Womens University Vijayapura women team in all India inter university tournaments in Kho-Kho, Cricket and Ball Badminton. She has passed referee examination conducted by volleyball association, kho kho federation and athletic federation. In these days at different level of sports and games tournaments she proved a better referee in officiating and coaching the justices. She has also taken part as an assistant coach to prepare university teams, conducting coaching camps by university players proved a worth.

Dr. Narasimhamurthy H. B.

Dr. Narasimhamurthy, H. B., is born in Hosahalli village in Koratagere taluk, Tumakuru district of Karnataka, India on May 24, 1990. He completed his Ph.D in Plant Pathology in 2017 and M.Sc (Agriculture) in Plant Pathology in 2014 from Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences (Formerly UAHS), Shivamogga, Karnataka and B.Sc., (Agriculture) from College of Agriculture, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru in 2012. He Received Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for Ph.D studies from University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi. Awarded University Gold Medal in Ph.D by securing highest OGPA in the Department of Plant Pathology, UAHS, Shivamogga, P.R. Verma Student Award in 2017 (for Best Ph.D thesis) from Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology, Udaipur, Rajasthan and Best Poster Award in 2016 from University of Agriculture Science, Dharwad and Indian Phytopathological Society, New Delhi. He is a contributing author to 18 scientific research publications of International and National level repute. In January 2023 he joined this university as Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology. His research area of interest includes, Management of Ginger soft rot complex, Management of Nematode diseases in open field crops and also crops grown under protected cultivation, Bio-management of plant diseases and Integrated management of pest, disease and nematode management in Guava. He is also a Life member of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Government of India, New Delhi, National Academy of Biological Science (NABS), Chennai, India, Indian Botanical Society (IBS), Bareilly, UP, India and Society for advancement of Science and Rural Development (SASRD), UP. Annual member of American Phytopathological Society (APS), USA, Indian Phytopathological Society (IPS), New Delhi and Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology (ISMPP), Udaipur (Rajasthan).

Dr Priya Kivadasannavar

I am Dr Priya Kivadasannavar, working as Assistant professor, seed science and technology, College of Agricultural Sciences , Iruvakki. I have done PhD in Hybrid seed production technology in chilli (Capsicum annuum L) hybrid HCH-9646. And my MSc research was on Influence of sowing time, spacing and fungicidal application on seed yield and quality in niger (Guizotia abyssinica). SKILLS / EXPERIENCES: Seed Science and Technology: Techniques of seed production, seed treatment, seed storage,seed health testing, processing and seed quality testing, varietal identification through morphological(GOT), biochemical and molecular methods(GPT). Molecular biology and Biotechnology- DNA extraction, PCR and gel electrophoresis (Agarose and PAGE), molecular marker based diversity analysis, MAS and micro propagation of sugarcane and banana, ELISA testing (Cry 1 AC and Cry 2Ab). Agricutlure students during August 2024 and it has been inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. R.C Jagadeesh. The association has been registered and executive committee of alumini association has been formed.
