About Floriculture & Landscaping
India is the second largest producer of flowers after China, and the Floriculture industry has immense potential for generating self-employment among small & marginal farmers.
About 383 thousand hectares of the area were under cultivation for floriculture with a production of 3622 thousand metric tonnes in 2024-25 and exported around 20,000 metric tonnes of floriculture products worth Rs 717.83 crores were exported in 2024-25.
The major importers including the United States of America (USA), the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Malaysia.
The leading Floriculture Regions are Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Maharashtra has emerged as major floriculture centres. Karnataka ranks first in the country in the production of traditional and modern flowers.
Floriculture is practiced in Shivamogga district, with crops like rose, jasmine, aster, crossandra, and tuberose being cultivated. Anthurium and gerbera are also gaining importance, often grown in greenhouses or polyhouses. The State Department of Horticulture established “the Centre of Excellence for Floriculture” at Shivamogga and plays a role in developing these crops and providing technical information to farmers.

The name of the UAHS was renamed as Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences (KSNUAHS), considering the substantial reforms in the field of Agriculture by disciplined Shivappa Nayaka; a prominent ruler in the Keladi Dynasty.
The KSNUAHS is integrated University in the State of Karnataka, which has Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry Sciences under its purview. It has an operational jurisdiction in six districts viz., Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Chitradurga.

The University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK Bangalore established the College of Agriculture at Shivamogga in 1990 with the goal of providing high-quality education in agriculture and related fields.
It subsequently evolved into a part of the University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga, beginning in September 2012.
The College offers B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and Post-graduate programs in key disciplines of agricultural and horticultural sciences. The college campus is located in Navile, Shivamogga.

Abstracts
The original research abstracts related to the conference themes are invited from all the stakeholders viz., students, faculties of National & International institutes, SAUs, SHUs, UAHS, CUs, CAUs, DUs /ICAR institutes and PSUs/ companies/ private organizations.
The soft copy of the abstract to be sent to the organizers of the conference on or before 10.02.2026. All the abstracts must be submitted to the dedicated email: ncfls2047vb@uahs.edu.in through the designated google form.
Further, the abstract submission must be accompanied by registration only and it will be included in the proceedings only after the registration fee is received. The Scientific Programme Committee reserves the right to edit or reject any abstracts, if necessary
ABSTRACT AND FULL-LENGTH PAPER SUBMISSION:
Abstract of 400 words must be typed in Times New Roman (12 font). The abstract should have a title (bold, 14), followed by names of authors (bold, 12) and affiliations (italics, 12).The email of presenting author and five keywords are required to be provided at the end of the abstract.
Abstracts should state the theme under which they are submitted and the intended method of presentation (oral or poster). Abstracts must not contain tables, pictures, graphs or abbreviations.All abstracts and full-length papers are required to be submitted only via the Google Forms available on the conference website.
